Wink wastegate Question

i am going to install my new Tial 38mm wastegate today but ive got a question about running the hoses. I know the side hose on the wastegate itself is for the boost, and i am going to be running that to my MBC from lindsey. But the other hose goes where? does it go to the CV valve? ANd what happens to the hose that used to go to from the banjo bolt to the hard line? Does that get plugged? The hose on the top of the Wastegate goes to the CV valve correct? Some one please let me know!!! Thanks..Nick

Hi Nick,
From banjo bolt connect to inlet
of Linsey MBC from the outlet of
the MBC run a line straight to the
side port of the Tial wastgate.
Leave the top of the wastegate
to vent to atmosphere. Do not
run any lines to the CV valve.
Bypass it all together.
If I'm not mistaken, the Lindsey MBC
is a ball & spring type like the Reliaboost.
If so the above instructions will apply.

The diagram i have shows the line from the intake going to both the side port on the WG and i think the inlet on the MBC. The top port is connected to outlet of MBC so you can control your boost.

The diagram you have if I'm
not mistaken is for a Bleed
Valve type MBC . For ball &
spring type like Reliaboost,
you connect as per the
instruction that I've enclosed.
FYI I'm using the same set-up

thanks guys that helps me out alot< so the top just vents to the atmosphere, and the side port goes to my Lindsey MBC, if im not mistaken, we'll see how it goes later on today. And today is the day to turn the motor over, first time in over 6 months. I hope everything goes well after my major upgrading..I will let you guys know tonight... thanks..Nick

Nick, here's a picture:

Any single-port hook-up is the same. Just be careful if you're using the Lindsey wastegate, which is a modified stock wastegate. The boost-port is actually the one on top, not side.

Also you cannot use a check-valve boost-controller like an LBE or ReliaBoost in dual-port mode. A couple people almost blew up their cars because the guy they bought their Tial from told them to hook it up like in #3 above with the LBE/Reliaboost; don't do that...

just curious why configuration 3 wouldn't work with an LBE?....I imagine since at max boost there is equal pressure on both the top and side port...the wastegate will never open at max boost?

...that's awesome!!!

Now if I could just figure out why my wastegate never opens....running a straight line from my IC pipe to the stock wastegate and seeing 16+psi...

So the boost valve is on the top, Not on the side....

Chas, you got it right. The two types of boost-controllers work in opposite directions. The check-valve controllers let through pressure at max-boost, while the pressure-regulator types limit air at max-boost, thus creating a pressure-differential. Boost then pushes upon the valve and opens it. Notice that at no point in all three diagrams is there higher clamping force than what the spring provides; boost never helps keep the wastegate closed.

Nick, we still don't what kind of boost-controller you have. If you have a Boost Enhancer (LBE), then you can only use the #1 configuration. If you have the pressure-regulator type (bleed-valve), then you can use either.

I have the Lindsey Boost Enhancer. I ran the lines as per pictured in the first diagram. I also started my car tonight for the first time in 6 months. God i miss my car. Everything seems fine i got to fine tune it later on this week. So did i run the hoses correctly???
