APR R1 Diverter Valve (DV) Now Available for Multiple Porsche Turbocharged Engines

We are pleased to announce the world famous APR R1 Diverter Valve (DV) is now compatible with multiple Porsche turbocharged engines! This announcement comes after more than a decade of successful operation on thousands of vehicles worldwide!

The APR R1 DV is a critical performance upgrade recommended at all stages of performance as it replaces the failure prone factory unit. The R1 is designed to withstand extreme boost pressures at the highest levels of performance, while offering lightning fast response thanks to the unit’s friction-free diaphragm-based design. Unlike piston based units that can stick and bind in the winter, the APR R1 is virtually maintenance free, requiring no greasing or o-ring replacements, as is common with other units. Constructed from CNC-machined billet-aluminum with a high-temperature Nomex-reinforced diaphragm, the R1 is designed to be the last DV upgrade the engine will ever need!

This unit generally replaces the factory "710" piston style DV which has 1 inch inlet and outlet hoses, and will look physically similar in shape. It's not designed to replace an on turbo DV, both manual and electronic, as found in the 997.1 Turbo, and latest generation Panamera 2.9T/3.0T/4.0T and others, both of which look dramatically different in physical shape and appearance.

Awesome! We've had one on an old employees 944 for something like 15 years. I can't believe I never listed it before.

Generally springs on BOVs/diverters are chosen based on idle vacuum, not boost pressure.

They are "boost" rated per say , here's the rating I found online if the op can confirm....

The valve won't be as open at idle with a stiffer spring under the same amount of vac as the standard spring. Which translates to the valve snapping shut faster when entering boost initially. It also means you need higher vac to fully open the valve. Therefore you can reduce boost bleed when spooling with stronger springs. Of course your talking very small differences here but the boost rating has to do with the force or "boost" working against the spring rate from the hard pipe side.
