Hi Kev (or anyone else with knowledge here),
I have some interest here but have some questions if you dont mind. I had been considering LR kit as I know it more by name and am not as familiar with Vitesse.

- Can you tell me if this has everything needed except the airfilter and MAF pipe?
- Do you have an idea on where to get the two items above as well as rough idea of cost?
- Is this a fairly easy install one can do on their own, for someone who has some basic understanding and experience?
- If this easily completely reversible to go back to stock?
- Finally, anything you can point me to on estimate on HP gains against a stock 89 Turbo?

@sirhensley ,
thank you for your interest.
- yes, you only need a MAF J pipe (through Vitesse, Lindsey, make your own, or check with Larts (Luis) as I know he recently had one for sale. You can get a new K&N air filter from summit racing or any generic racing company. Price for pipe approx $100-175 price for air filter approx $45***update, I found the J-pipe and sold it with this kit***
- installation is pretty straightforward with some minor wire modifications to your harness which you can make reversible and removing the leg of one resistor on your DME (all maf kits with Map sensors require this mod). You will need to delete your turbo cycling valve (which you can revert back to if you decide to not have the maf system installed).
- This kit is spect out for a larger turbo, but is still tunable with the piggyback for fine tuning. If you are using your stock k26/8 from your 89, your limiting factor will be your wastegate which you can shim. You will also benefit greatly from an adjustable boost controller for higher boost levels in conjunction with a modified stock or aftermarket wastegate. It requires to also run a 3 bar fpr and a higher flowing fuel pump is also recommend. Depending on what turbocharger is in the car with this kit will get you 350 rear wheel horsepower easily. Regardless of turbo, the throttle response and solid work from Vitesse is more than enough alone to make you grin. if you install a larger and modern turbo, even more potential, all with tunabilty. If you so desire, you can choose to run race fuel or E85 fuel for even more power with proper tuning. With the right combination you will be over 400 horsepower to the wheels.
All installation instructions are included and all base maps are loaded on the chipboard to cover all fuel options.
As far as Vittesse goes, John was the first game changer to dissect the the factory software and make it truly robust and modernized. That in conjunction with the Smt8 piggy back gets you peace of mind, solid, customized tunabilty which was once unheard of for our cars.
thank you for your interest.
