Just my opinion: You have waited long enough. Sell the engine to someone else. But if the original purchaser ever shows up, reimburse him for his purchase price, minus any storage fees that you have had in the meantime.

I think that would be the most 'correct' way of dealing with this situation.

Best regards,

Gary.

My guess is the military, it would be the last thing on his to do list if he got called up. I think that you have the right to sell it, but I would reimburse him if he contacts you like Gary said.

Did you say brand new? What are you asking for it? Not that I could buy it, but I am curious.

If he paid for it it's his. I think you'd have to hold onto it for a year at least. If it was an entire car, it'd be different, imo.

Give the guy a break. Maybe he's in Iraq right now.

Where's he from? Did he mention where he lives? There's a Karl in TO who races 944s. (no, really!)

Just send it/drop it off to the SF fire dept addressed to him. Seems the easiest solution.

You're kidding, right? You may be unaware of the fact, but San Francisco is... umm... rather a large city. So the block disappears into the bowels of San Francisco and 3 months later karl turns up asking for his block. Now mumzer has neither the block or the money(from a new purchaser) to give him. Great idea.
