Default T04e 50 trim?

I have this To4e, I am thinking of mating it to a KKK #8 hotside. It's a .50 A/R housing (2.75" inlet) and is stamped '50' inside the exducer, does that mean it is a 50 Trim?

No, the 50-trim is a compressor-wheel specification. The 50-AR is a measurement of the outer housing itself.

Here is an screen shot from the old Turbonetics webpage that has TO4B & E compressor wheel sizes. Since it doesn't have headings on the columns, the first column is the inlet size of the wheel, then the major wheel diameter, housing part number, and finally housing inlet size.

Great! Very helpful. It seems odd that they would cast the A/R into the housing and then stamp it into the compressor outlet.

Maybe it's a 54 trim, the inlet diameter measures (roughly) 56mm(2.2") where it tapers down. If I were to measure the blades they would be a mite smaller.

thanks,
-Joel.

Any other tips to help identify this turbo?
