I went ahead and bought the high torque starter from pelican, the one in the link in the first post, and it not only fixed my issue but I'm shocked how fast it starts now. Truely worth every penny. If you don't have the high torque starter I highly recommend it. The old starter I had was a reman unit from AutoZone and it was crap from day one. I swapped starters a few times always using reman AutoZone ones and the issue was always there. It pushed me to look towards other areas like cables, battery, relay, switches... None of which helped either. This high torque starter cranks the engine so much faster and starts in just tenths of a second. I'm blown away.

I'm guessing the interference issue is heightened with whatever parts they are remanufacturing them with from AutoZone or else they just aren't using the proper components. Not sure but I won't buy one again. High torque for the win.

Good to hear Pelican appear to be stocking this starter. I tried to email, Facebook etc Ideola Garage many months back to purchase one of these and never got a response. Makes sense if they have gone out of business.
