Takes too long, and dont want to be without my car for more than 1 min or I get sad. I need a step by step explaination. Easier to go from underneath? Where the hell is it? My Hanes book is junk. Man I hate that book. I am tempted to start a "I hate the Hanes manual" thread.

It's tough to do with the radiator in the car...

The temp sensor is just under the upper radiator hose (top right facing the front of the car).

Its easiest to reach if you remove the top hose and access from the top.

you mean the thermo fan switch? Its damn easy, lift the car (on ramps if you have em) after removing the belly pan its a straight shot up. But drain the coolent first, as clarks garage says.with a 29 mm deap socket (I borrowed an axle set from pepboys to get a hold of one of these, which is free, aside from the 50 bucks you have to put down as collateral.) Clarks garage recomends removing the fan assembly, but i found it really easy to do without removing the fan assebly, i think i used an extension though. If you need more detail, ask.

Right, so it is possible by attacking it from the top and removing the hose and keeping the radiator in place? PS Tony, get in on the group buy for some 968 handles and mirrors if you dont have any. Must be lighter!

Sorry Tony, I meant the thermo fan switch, I may not have been clear. Where is it when I am under the car looking up? I took the pan off last night but could not see it. Would a spanner get in there?

its towards the drivers side on the assembly, it has electric wires pluged into it. Do you want me to go and take a photo for you?

Ok, so the switch is just to the right of the fan on the right (looking at the car)?

yes, looking at the car, as if the front was transparent, its to the right and to the top. It's pretty identifiable, you'll know it when you see it. theres nothing else in the area that requires a 29 mm deap socket, and has a plug connected to it.

P.S. Yes, LHD cars, I'm not sure if they are LHD or not in New Zealand.

Nope RHD in NZ, you guys have it on the wrong side. If it to the top, why get at it from below?

I agree, MUCH easier from below b/c the hose and end tank extension for the hose would be in the way from the top...from the bottom it is a straight shot and took me maybe 15 minutes from start to finish after I pulled the undertray.
