In Sep of 98 I left NJ and headed for Neveda to race in the Silver state Classic. At the time I had an 87 944 turbo with a K27#6 set up. My average speed was 135 for the entire course (90 miles) and a documented top speed of 168.37, the car seemed to have more power but I was already into the beginning stages of REDline and backed off since that was my only ride back. There was a large variety of cars that blew me away such has souped up vettes and very fast Vipers that easily hit over 200MPH. As for the road, they had just finished paving it that morning, there system of paving is different than the roads in the East. Such as they pour a hot, oily tar down then go over it with tiny pebbles or stone. Some areas were off limit to high speeds cause the tar hadn't cured yet, but overall it was an exciting experience that I will never forget and if I lived closer would do it again. Reno
