Default Help! Hit rev limiter, now car won't idle

OK, so I wasn't paying close enough attention and I banged the rev limiter in 1st coming away from a stop light. When I grabbed 2nd, the car stuttered and wouldn't build boost. At the next stop, the engine just died. I was able to re-start, but it wouldn't stay running unless I kept the revs above ~2K.

Any ideas what I broke? Vacuum lines are new and all connected. Nothing shows underneath.

Those few of you that aren't watching that little game in Houston, I'd appreciate any ideas you have.

Thanks,
CM

Default Doh! missed the DV hose to IC pipe

Well, I took the snorkle off and the first thing I see is the hose from the diverter valve to the intake pipe from the intercooler disconnected.

Re-attached and magic, it idles again. While I looked at all the pretty blue silicone lines, I didn't look at the old 1" hose. Oh well, all is better.

Thanks anyway, NZ951.

I got quite a thrill the first time this happened.
Opened the hood to see that it was just the IC pipe.

I still had to stand around forever trying to bum a screwdriver off random people.

This happened to my friends 951 last night. I think I forgot to tighten the clamp down after I put it back on, though.

Hi Chris.

Glad it wasn't anything serious.

I met you at Spring Mtn last October. I was driving the white 944-Spec car. Did you replace the vacuum lines yourself? I was thinking about doing this on my Turbo.
