Not to pile on, but totally agree about the engine compartment. I thought I was rough on my KN filter. And when you tag it as $200k car, and then show us a $20-30k car....lets just say its disappointing. I agree that at least the 944t got some air time which is always cool and the car is nice so I don't have any issues with that. But if the author spent some time on this forum he could have found much nice examples (not mine) and waaaaaaay more informed owners to do a profile on.

As far as the video itself, I think I'll watch some Van reruns.....at least I learn something.

Bare metal repaint, and old black paint under the hood. Seems like corners were cut...

Let’s get picky. Looks like no antenna in the windshield but hard to tell, no rear wiper but still has the switch for it, clear turn signal lights are illegal in most states, he states it has reupholstered sports seats but changed them out?(see photo above), not all one color car (read above comment), looks to be a 2.5L restrictive head on maybe a 3.0L bottom end, wierd interior door handle pull and wrong interior door opener handle, seat belt receptacle mounted on the seat not the chassis, old fuel lines as stated above, is there a spare tire and is it the right one? If he can track it does it have 1” longer wheel studs and steel open lug nuts. But check out how good that rear hatch seal looks, and I like the HVAC control *****. I want a set. Ok I’m done now.

I like the brakes and the wheels. Grey paint just looks like primer to me though. As has been said if he's happy with it fair enough, but the headline was the money spent. And on a one model forum that's going to provoke opinions.

I'm wondering if he's a funny guy, or just dumb.

I'm happy to see any Panorama coverage of transaxel cars, and thought that the video was pretty cool as well.

Comments here sound like Bring a Trailer. I sold a car on BAT last year and its a pretty critical bunch. Nothing all that bad, but lots of focus on the imperfections.

I've decided to charge myself $1,000 an hour to work on my own car. Now I have a million dollars in my car!

I guess the car is nice - but it seems that the main bragging point is the total dollars spent. Not a very bright game to play!!!

...200K in a 30K car you be the judge... But then again when I spent 5K on a suspension I got that "Look" from my wife like .."Thats really stupid"...dont get me wrong. I dont regret the 5k spent on the suspension... I regret letting my wife know how much it cost.... :-)

The big fallacy here is ALL The receipts.. So he is counting Timing belt changes for timing belts that are already in the garbage, Brake pads from 5 years ago.... parts that were purchased and already gone....He probably has every receipt for every oil change..

944 turbos are very cool but spending 200 grand on that car is absolute insanity. It better come out being a full carbon fiber Singer version of a 944 after dropping that kind of cash.

I wonder if he is counting gas receipts... In that case... lets Say a car with 100K / Ave 20MPG X $3 gallon....In that case.. I have 15K just in fuel...

If I'd done that over the last 30 years I'd be living in a tent now .

Or a mansion, depending on your perspective.

My turbo S came with about 60.000 british pounds worth of receipts from official porsche services. Crazy amounts for trivial jobs but it adds up in 10+ years.
