Yes this is off topic but as a Swede and having been influenced by my late father whom sold SAAB and Opels for 43 years this is just so cool and not that far away from were Porsche was at the time (1960)
These SAAB:s were truly handbuilt and just look at that guy strapped to the hood looking through a peephole trying to see if any water gets into the engine compartment during testing! Priceless atleast to me
Such a wonderful little car these twostroke cars. And blast to drive!
I have owned alot of different Saabs and I loved all them just like the Porsches I have owned.
I love this. You ticked my boxes there. I drove Saabs and worked on them forever, before getting into Porsches. Always felt there is a lot in common with the cars as I tore them apart, but Porsches could support the stuff Saab had too low a price point for. (costs more to put the turbo over the intake than the exhaust for example...or electric turbo coolant aux pump..... or the *really good* brakes... etc)
BTW If I had to say .... my hands down favorite 80's cars out there would be:
Grey 1986 Saab 900 SPG
White 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo w/ Fuchs
Silver 930 Turbo

And they might be in that above order too
Yes SAAB and Porsche were very much the same in many areas, atleast Porsche of yesterday, now not so much.
Your list is spot on 😀 I am in the hunt for a nice 900 Aero "Trubbnos" That would be 900 SPG bullnose 1984-86 in the US I think. The later 900:s got an updated and more rounded look.

Cool! American built "Quantum" rearwheel drive with Saab engine
This car below
is at the Saab museum and is a formula junior built by Saab for the 1960 season. It had a steel monoqocue tub and twostroke engine and front wheel drive ofcoarse! 😀It had success against the likes of Colin Chapman and Lotus for instance. No one was using monoqocue tubs at the time and only shortly after Lotus presented the Lotus 25 with just that claiming to be the first with that type of construction. Few know but Saab was first with monoqocue!
