911 readers buy Exellence, not European car and the 911 v 944 thing happend kind of in the 80's.If you ask the average 996 owner what a 951 is , you will get a blank stare. Today the typical 996 owner(enthusiasts excluded) buys the car for the image, the performance comes second. So I think you can put any conspiracy theories to rest.

I think you will find the 911 vs 944 battle still rages where enthusiasts are concerned...

Default Another 944T project

Well, hopefully this spring you'll see a few stories in Euro Tuner magazine on another 944T project. They are trying to expand their coverage beyond VW/Audi/BMW content, so I'm freelancing a few stories for them based on my stock 1988 Turbo S. Dan from Guru has been a lot of help so far (thanks Dan!) and here's the dyno results so far:

Stock with Lindsey boost enhancer, 13psi spike, holding 11psi on top, 93 octane: 233.5hp @ 5800rpm / 243 ft-lbs @ 4000 rpm

Authority DME & KLR chips with Lindsey boost enhancer (no banjo bolt restrictor) plumbed directly to wastegate (no cycling valve), 14.5psi in midrange, dropping to 10psi on top, 93 octane: 240hp@5700rpm / 245 ft-lbs @ 4700 rpm.

All figures measured at the rear wheels on a Clayton Eddy Current dyno, SAE corrected for temp, altitude & barometric pressure.

Next I'm pulling out the Autothority and Lindsey (for sale -- anyone?) and putting in the Guru Turbo S chips, Reliaboost & 3 bar FPR. Should have it in by this weekend and on the dyno next week.

BTW, I don't know how it works with Pablo & European Car, but most of my work is financed by my bank account, just like every other normal guy. So I can only move forward to the next stage when my day job pays me.

Greg, I'd be interested in the chips depending on price.
