Default Blink Code Tester Question..

Hello,

In the attatched picture there is a 3rd, thick red wire going into the diagnosis plug. It is NOT the red wire coming from the LED.

What is that thick red wire?

btw- this picture was taken from this: http://www.lindseyracing.com/misctech.htm

Anyone know what you have to do in order to make the sequence begin? after i drive it iplug it in and nothing, but then i rev it and it starts blinking. When i go back to idle it throws out strange random codes like 4-9 or just blinks twice or it keeps going without any consistency. any ideas what i might be doing wrong?

When the KLR (stock chip) is operating normally, the LED should not be lit. When there is an error, the LED will light solid at rpms > 1200-1500 rpm. You must be at idle (< 1200-1500rpm) to read the codes. You must cycle the ignition to reset the system. Codes 4-X are associated with the TPS, but 4-9 is not listed.
