Default To Suck or to Blow?

Regarding the Blow Off Valve test.

In order to prove that your Blow off Valve is OK, do You suck into it and try

to feel the resitance?

Or do you blow into it, and try to feel resistance?

Thanks!

Either way should be a good test. The diaphragm on the bypass valve is under pressure when the engine has boost and this clamps it shut. Vacuum on the valve occurs when you have the throttle closed and this opens the valve to vent pressure back to the turbo inlet. If your bypass valve can't hold pressure OR vacuum on the small top-port, then it's bad and should be replaced.

I recommend the Forge valve from Stratmosphere when replacing a bad one. Direct replacement for teh stock unit and looks OEM too.
