Now that I know what I'm looking at, I took another look at those numbers. Quite impressive! If those were dynojet numbers you'd probably be in the mid 3s, rather than low 3s. Nice.

Thanks for sharing!

Photoshop??? What are you talking about?

These pulls were done on a SuperFlow twin eddy current dyno. The eddy current was set at about 15% or so, I think.

Low 3's @ 12 psi. It made 352 @ 17.

Oh... maybe i dont have all the information re the turbos there.
From the top, the top pic being #1...
Picture #1 has casting marks in the comp housing.
Picture #3 and #4 have no casting marks in the comp housing.

What happen to the casting marks? Thats what I was referring to when i said nice work in photoshop.

OK. I see what you mean. The pic installed in the car is the turbo that the maps go with. The other unit has a bigger A/R and the compressor housing is bare.

Since they are externally the same size, we started the mock up with that unit since we received it first.

Chris, what's the most power you think you could pull out of these cars using these turbos your testing? Do you think there will be any that are capable of 420 RWHP at mild boost levels? Thanks.

What do you consider mild? We got 352 rwhp @ 1.2 bar (17 psi) with the "little" turbo. There are 3 A/R's larger for the turbine and another turbo with a larger compressor A/R. So I really don't think 420 rwhp will be a problem.

The one that we tested wanted to keep making power but the wastegate was not set up properly to run any more boost. We are installing the next size A/R on a full race motor with Motec, cam, etc. and will squeeze all we can out of it within reason to see what the limits might be. I will definatly keep you posted.

I may have the current car back at the dyno next week to do a custom chip. The chips in the car were std. APE MAF chips. We also will play with fuel pressure as well, so we find the limit of this turbo as well.

Thanks for the response,

yea, I consider around 17 psi mild. When do you think these turbos will be available for interested 951 owners?

That's a good question. I have to make a call next week and find out. These things are not so easy to get and the people we got the first two from are now trying to raise the price. Go figure.

We have sold smaller turbo's than this in the past and we have to wait to get them as well. I can't say who's cars they are on, etc., but you guys would know the name for sure.

This is on pump gas. The car is an 89 951 with a stock engine, APE MAF and chips, Deltagate, test pipe. It has over 200k on it. It also has a 6 spd trans which makes it a blast to drive. You really have to pay attention driving it, before you know it it's into the rev limiter. Way cool.

wow, sounds like these are pretty capable turbos. I'm looking into the stage 3 vitesse to make the power I want but maybe if your turbos are what you say they are, I'll maybe wait.

Thanks for the info
