I think there should be a complete vacuum line update group buy with all the hoses. Seems like a lot of people are in the process of doing them, or have just recently done them in the past such as myself. Anyone can do this job, and considering the age of the vehicles, everyone probably needs to do this if they haven't done it in the past.

Karl2bdc. You are correct about the brake booster size(1/2") and the crank breather hose to J pipe is 3/4". We now will supply the blue ones for both puposes. The blue brake booster hose is 7$us and the blue crank breather hose is 5$us.

We can offer everything in a kit for 63$us instead of 73$us, plus shipping.

MySwiss would you be willing to sell the 3/4" line in a longer length? Can you give me a price per foot or something. I need to figure out where I will mount my catch can before I know how much I need but it will probably be over 10'.

Is it possible to do all of this without removing the intercooler? I know my vacuum lines are brittle and I would like to change and update all of them but I cant take the time to remove the intake manifold right now.

The intercooler dosen't need to be removed, but the intake manifold has to be removed. That remind's me we should include some intake manifold gaskets with our kit.......Ya we will include yhem for a total of 70$ instaed of 63$. That way you get every thing you need to do the jos right.

Intake only takes about 5 minutes to pull, not a hard job.

I guess I have to pull my intake manifold as well. I have a banjo bolt that just blows freely to "somewhere" under there. If I have an LBE, can I delete the cycling valve too? If so, does anyone have any good directions for doing this?

does the intake manifold sesriously only take 5 minutes to get off?

Look at the other post in this section on the mess under the manifold, that shows the CV, you can delete it by simply removing it and putting the LBE on the line going straight to WG from the banjo.

Manifold is indeed under 5 min, take a compressor and liberally blow everything on, around, and under off to get loose dirt out that may fall into the head, remove the banjos, unhook throttle cable, remove cruise control cable and bracket if you have it, remove IC to TB hose, then remove manifold bolts and lift off. You'll need an allen socket driver to do the manifold, have that before you start.

Might take you a few more minutes to take off if you haven't done it and don't know exactly what sizes bolts are and where they are at etc, but not much longer. Everything is pretty much a 10mm. Oh yea, do have a long allen socket (6mm) for the intake runners...if you try it with a regular allen key, you will probably not like the outcome. Take a punch and hammer and wake up the allen head bolts first.

Wait, I forgot about the fuel rail - unhook the 2 fuel lines, expect some fuel to spill, and lift the rail off with the manifold - the injectors are so tight it's a waste of time to separate rail from manifold unless you're doing injector work.

sounds like a plan....my banjo bolt blew off somewhere under the intake manifold and I just can't reach it. The car will no even idle...it's that bad...

The problem is I don't have new gaskets. Can I reuse the same intake gaskets temporarly (about 1,000 miles) until I can get some new ones?

Has anyone tried not only leaving the fuel rail intack, but have a support lift the intake manifold up with the fuel lines still attached?
