Default My 89 Turbo has lost it's performance!!

Where the hell did my boost go?
Usually in 1st gear, I get that throw back feeling in my chair from the boost when I give the car some gas 3.5krpm-on. Lately it's taking longer for the RPMs to climb. And my performance that I had a month ago is gone.

The last time I remeber feeling that "throw back" boost was about 1 week before I changed my oil. The oil was old, and dirty (almost 7.5 months !), and I thought that could be the reason why I couldn't feel my boost, crappy oil.

After replacing that oil with about 7 quarts of Mobile 1 10w-30, there is a slight, if anything at all, change. I can feel a very small change in the boost.
Usually when I floor it (2bar on factory gauge) the car stumbles for a second, and it takes off like a rocket. But not lately, the performance is gone.

What do you guys think could be causing my problems? I'm hearing bad AFM, or fuel filter, any ideas?

All help is really appreciated, thanks.

Are you still getting the same boost as before? Have you checked all the vacuum hose connections around the intake, especially those small hard plastic lines? Some of the plastic ones have a tendency to pull out of their rubber fittings--I've had it happen and I lost most of my boost when it did.

I second Adrial's advice...

One item that never crossed my mind until I had someone else drive my car was what looked like a compression collar/ring on the one end of the wastegate elbow. If you hear a ringing sound in your exhaust under gentle boost, that may be it...

Turns out it was oil dripping on the exhaust, my rear oil seal is bad.

My BOV is fine, I did the "blow" test, and it turned out to be fine.

This is what I think my problem is, a vacuum leak. Which line on your car pulled out that resulted in a loss of boost?

They're fine

Jay, I have heard that weird ringing sound coming from my exhaust. Sounds like theres a nut in the cat and it keeps moving around.
I can take my car to you, or you can come over and check this out.

Thanks.
