Default Injector Seal Replacement

Hey.

I am about to replace my injector seals, is there anything special or trick to doing it?

Nope, nothing to it. Remove 4 M6 bolts from top of cam tower and fuel rail, lift rail and go to town on the injectors.

As stephen said, it is very easy and quick to do. The little caps on the end I had to push kinda hard to get them to snap on, but they eventually went with a little nudging.

The injectors may be really tight in both the manifold and the fuel rail, mine didn't pull up easily, required a lot of muscle and prying, then all injectors stayed in the rail. Was able to pull 3 out, one's still in it.

It's really clear what goes where after you pull the injector out - there's an upper o-ring, lower o-ring, and cap, and you really can't mix any of them up.

I just replaced the seals in my car. Get the Bosch kit 1 287 010 704.
I have heard some people have had trouble with some of the aftermarked kits available here in the States. Don't forget to lubricate them with Auto Trans fluid before you put them back together. The little clips at the fuel rail pop right out with a screwdriver. My car started and ran noticably better afterwords.

I used a socket to push the caps on, as it was a really tight fit. They have to go through 2 "clicks" before they are appropriately fitted.

Where can you get the injector seals? Anywhere locally or do you have to order them?

I got them off Rennbay, they were cheap to me and did not make their profit on the freight like some croks try to do... I want a discount next time Rennbay!

lol, If I wanted $2 more for the seal kits I would just put it on the price of the pieces. Shipping is shipping and not just another way to hike up the price. My accountant trys to convince me different every time he comes by but I won't give in.

So , everyone is doing the injector seals now (I know because I have been selling a ton of them). How about someone with a digital camera make a quick tutorial, or take a few pics for me. It would be a great addition to the Rennbay tutorials section plus you would get credit at the top. It may be just a fraction of the great "15 min. of fame" thing but its something.
