Default Fuel Pump Question

My fuel pressure drops off at high rpms... I have replaced the fuel filter after the pump and checked the filter before the pump. I have also checked the voltage at the pump. I also ran the volume test that is in the service manual and it passed, but that test doesn't put pressure on the pump.

Is there anything else I should check before replacing the pump???

Also is there a pump that is better than the stock 951 pump?

TIA,
Marshall

And yes there is...

Lindsey Racing sells a high volume fuel pump that is a direct bolt-in.

No problems thus far at over 400RWHP at stock fuel pressure.

Replace the pump.

Fuel pumps are funny when they go. They don't just stop. They get weaker and weaker....

It's an easy job.

Just make sure you have a couple of pairs of those vise grips that have the "hose pinchers" on them. You can just pinch the fuel lines, undo the banjo bolts, and change the pump real quick w/o getting fuel all over the place.

The job should take no longer than about 1 hour max.
