Question 951 + NOS w/o standalone?

Anyone have NOS (N20) in their 951? If yes, how is it setup?

I am thinking of a zero-lag setup.... I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW... supercharged S2/968

With the typical Piggy-back MAF (no Fuel-Map switching capabilty)... is it possible to run a small shot of N2O for 0 ~ 8psi range without the need to specifically re-map fuel?

Let's say the car is tuned(fixed) for turbo-only application: A/F 14.7 ~ 16.0 off-boost and 12.5~12.0 underboost upto 18psi maxboost ..... what kind of A/F can we expect if N2O comes in between 0psi to 6psi?

Standalone or fuel-map switching absolutely neccesary for a proper N20 setup?

You can use the SMT6 to control NOS, Fuel and Timing. Control can be based on LOAD/RPM/BOOST...

I have no experience with NOS, and I'm not recommending it!!

Hey Songzzz,
Can you give me the diameter of
the rear shock body ? I've found
a source to convert the konis to
coilovers but you might have to
get custom wound springs cause
no one makes them in low tension

Simple, I have no experience with it. I do not recommend something unless I tested it myself... I have no opinion on using NOS, however it's not something I will be trying next.

Ask Rodney Wiggins about NOS and a 951. I saw the aftermath of that combo. There was a nice 'V' shape melted down one side of 2 pistons. Nothing that George Washington and a few thousand of his clones couldn't fix.

It was set at off-boost/low-boost?

Don't the NOS kits come with their own fuel jets to take care of the nitros oxide demands?

Yes, some NOS kits come with their own fuel jets. It really depends on the type of kit you get.

The scary thing is that the crank is cast steel and the pistons are cast as well. I'm not 100% certain that the stock crank and pistons are capable of handling a 100HP nitrous shot on top of a turbo'd car that already makes around 300-350HP (assuming you modded it).

Just stage the NOS. Dont hit a 100 shot at once. Use a good computer controlled kit with a bottle warmer and remote opener. Then stage it for when you want it, RPM, pedal height, etc. NOS is not the devil, though I wouldnt recommend a 100HP shot out of the hole.

Songzzz,

Rodney used a hybrid stand alone along with a NOS injector in each intake runner. I do not know how he staged the injection. I do know that the car had produced slightly over 400 rwhp.

I sincerely hope that you have better luck.

Alan, it sounds like he leaned out. Do you know how long he ran the setup?
