Rear Center Reflector Differences
I'm just wondering if there was a particular formula Porsche used when installing the rear center brake light reflector. There are 3 styles i'm aware of. Obviously the one that says turbo would be used on a turbo car, but not all turbo cars have the one that says turbo, mine says Porsche. Did they just slap whatever on that they had, or was this a dealer or special option that was specified for each car? Or was there actually a particular one they put on for specific year and model?

Burning Brakes
The rear center reflectors were not manufactured or sold by Porsche, but were an aftermarket product that Porsche dealers installed.
The company that originally manufactured them was in Tarzana, CA and they had raised letters. Several other companies copied the design but without the raised letters; typically the lettering was silk screened on the plastic.
The panels had printed or raised lettering of "Porsche," "turbo," and "944." All of them were lighted except for a couple of really cheap knockoffs.
