Swiss,
So if my 86 has a set up like the left one in the pictures above, then your adapters will work, correct?
Also, does the wastegate end of the small pipe leading to the main exhaust pipe need to be modified to fit the Tial?

Krickman. That is correct. The adapters will bolt on, without issues on your set up. They will also bolt on the 1 piece cross over pipe, but the Tial will not have enough clearance for the torque tube. That is why, on the 1 piece, you need to cut and re-weld the inlet portion on the 1 piece cross over pipe.
The dump tube, will not require any modification, in order to fit the Tial.
86 944 turbo. the early 86(manufactured in 1985 probably), have the 1 piece cross over pipe. but as mentioned earlier, most have been recalled or replaced by warranty.

my april '86 951 has the one piece crossover. Probably never updated when the header was done. Unfortunately I think I will have to go with a modified stock wastegate. I was interested in the Tial, but would rather just update to a two piece crossover. Anyone have one for sale?

H2Opumpr. You might want to check out Lindey Racing for their 3 piece cross over pipe. It looks like it's a decent part at a more affordable price then the stock unit. I don't have any personal experience with it.

BTW........anyone wanting to update the one piece cross over pipe to the two piece style, making the wastegate project much more direct, should contact Billy at AutoTech Plus (877) 445-1503. I was just there today and and saw(literally) a pile of used 951 exhausts. He's got tons of used 944/951 parts and is a great guy to boot.
