Hey,

I have a flag style side mirror and are attempting to put in an ambient temp sensor off a 968 in it. Does anyone knwo how to take the mirror off/apart? I have the bolt holding it on to the panel sorted, but can someone describe in detail how you do the rest? TIA.

This is easy if you know how to do it. Cost me a mirror though.

Put a small screwdriver into the hole in the bottom of the mirror housing and turn the retaining ring counterclockwise. The ring has teeth into which one can insert the screwdriver. You have to move the ring roughly half an inch.

Once the glass is gone the remaining bolts speak for themselves

The mirror housing is attached to the body with a single Allen bolt, accessable by turning the mirror out as far as possible.

To completely remove the mirror you will have to pry the wires out of the connector. For this to the best of my knowledge you will need a special tool.

When you say the small hole on the bottom, ar you referring to the small round hole, or the rectangular space on the rubber surround? Am I using the screwdriver to turn something with the head, or push something in the counterclockwise direction?
