Turbo Plumbing Ideas

Log style manifold is a compromise when little space is offered.
So it seems we take one step forward and then one step backwards.
Perhaps less lag, but what about top end?
The Norwood engine layout however - that's the way to go!

I would prefer stock to log style. I have plans for a huge turbo and a similar header as the car in that link. I still need to look into routing and room for components.

rage - I was just thinking the same thing after reading one of the threads on beyond.ca. The thread about 500whp from 2L. The S2000 making 500 had an incredible dyno chart. I then started looking at the kit installed on it and the "ram style" manifold on it. This started me thinking about putting the turbo on the other side (I know it's been done before).
There just doesn't seem to be much room over there - I know this is a lot more work but I was wondering if you were using a dry sump, cut the oil pan, and then were able to lower/rotate the engine to make more room. The other idea was to put a hump in the hood like the renegade hybrid hood so you could rotate the engine. I know - lots of work.

I saw a 968 at a club race at TMS last year that had the turbo mounted on the passenger side at the front of the engine. I don't recall the exact details, but my initial reaction was "COOL"! Doing this mod is on my wish list.
