Castor mount strut
I saw a Turbo Cup car rebuild on youtube, looks like a simple piece of flat bar is bolted between the castor mounts, anyone done this?

Yes the Cup cars had those bars in the last year 1990 in France. Not a factory part but was a development buy the French Porsche importer Sonauto which was the series sponsor there. Sonauto also comissioned "Snoebeck" to develop the cars further. The result was 3bar fpr, colder plugs and retuned ECU with 1 bar boost resulting in 300-310hp when dyoed. Versions of this tune was later a popular choice for owners of street cars. These late cars also had in car adjustable brake bias.
I have seen that D9 had a version of the bar but not anywhere else.

I believe it's called a 'castor block brace'. Here's a few good images from Images.google com

Thats the same idea that was used on the -90 Cup cars. However the originals was not that fancy with cnc:d brackets and alike but just an oval Steel bar mounted with spacers and longer bolts to the castor mounts to clear the exhaust.

That video's awesome! Pretty much get to see the entire chassis be disassembled and put back together.
Incredible job on the restore. Here's the Cup lower suspension brace.

Thats the one. Simple and effective.
The owner is a great guy and a patron to the Cup cars. He helped me alot with the restoration of my -89 Cup.

I'm slowly going through my '89 Turbo to somewhat replicate the Cup cars.
I wish I had the guts, a location, time and skills to do a complete restore like that.
What an accomplishment, maybe someday.

Sounds like it will be a great car! I did alot of the work myself on my Cup car in my small garage. Almost on the level of the video but I wanted to keep some original patina so much was just cleaned and refurbished. Got help with some body repairs, paint and engine/gearbox rebuild. Took me 4 years and alot of help from Cup knowledgable poeple from around the world and ofcourse alot of agony and joy! Really is a fantastic feeling when done so if you can some day do it. I didnt have any special skills just a big amount of patience and determination.

I have the Brey-Krause version. Besides being lightweight and pretty, it uses factory-length bolts in double shear:

For years I had issues with the caster block bolts gradually loosening at the track due to the load imposed on them from heavy braking, and since installing this it has not been an issue.
It clears my factory 951 exhaust, but the SFR 3" mid-pipe I have on the shelf might be a tight fit . . . .

My concern with the lower brace and the caster mounts in general has always been the welded nuts they fasten into.
If you break or strip a nut it looks like a nightmare to fix, including the need to weld.
I've seen the BK bar before and like the design, good to hear it's being used successfully. If I were to add a brace I would probably go with theirs.
Blade - I'm not aware of the length of bolts or spacers but wouldn't be difficult to figure out if you were planning to custom build one.
