Default AFPR, rising rate???

If I put an adj, fuel pressure regulator on, does it have to be a rising rate regulator???

No, the rising rate is probably not a good idea as all you really want to do is be able to adjust the starting fuel pressure differential to ambient. Then as boost builds you want the regulator to keep the same differential to the boost pressure. This makes tuning the car easier. For some appplications you may want a lower fuel pressure differential at low boost and then have it higher by some multiple, say 1.5 x boost psi, rather than raising one psi fuel pressure for each psi of boost.
