More accurate??? EGT or Narrow A/F

Can you mount an EGT sensor in an o2 bung? My stock o2 sensor (in the crossover) will be doin a whole lot of nothin after I run the NB output of my WB sensor (located after the downpipe) to the DME. Might be nice to have EGT just to keep an eye on combustion temps. Wouldn't that be a good "extra-safey-measure" to keep an eye on detonation and the such?

The question was an "or" question.

That said, if it's a narrow band a/f setup or the egt alone, I'd pick the narrow band a/f all day.
