968 wrecked, what to grab
Found a wrecked 968 
.... I will be taking its Block and Crank. What else to buy?
I have an 86' 951 with the old offset and spacers for my 17" wheels and BR, btw i think my hubs are shot.
Should I buy the entire 968 suspension? i.e control arms, torsion, sway bars etc. Can this be bolt up into the 951 easily?
If so, what about my current steering assembly and tie rods... will they be compaitible with the 968 parts that I am going to install?
and... of course the mirrors and door handles... too bad its a TTI (damn)...

Yes it does have some good interior parts. But I am in Taiwan, it will not be cost effective to ship.
The car was destroyed in an earthquake, bridge collasped, and almost split the car in two.

Don't know whether the entire suspension will bolt up (probably), but it's worth changing the front hubs and spindles: they're much stronger, and important if you track the car at all.

I am definitely changing the spindles and hubs..... btw what about the front and rear arms, is it compulsory to swop them too?

Except for the body, everything else is okay. i.e. Motor,tranny etc.... the ABS and Brakes are sold.
You keen? maybe we can get the entire wreckage shipped to Taipei... find a good place and start 'unwrapping' our Christmas presents....

If you take just the front hubs and spindle's, you'll have the updated stronger parts but keep your early offset.
If you take the entire front and rear suspension, you'll update to the later offset and can take it's ABS as well. You'll need its rims or other late offset rims. Your steering rack will be compatible but you'll need its tie rod ends.
Keep in the mind the ABS will be a LOT of work to transfer since you have to replace all the brake lines (soft and hard), wire up the sensors, brain and ABS pump.
If the interior color is the same as yours, take the door panels. Very worthwhile update.
I'll be in taiwan around x-mas. Any of you tpe'ers want to meet?

I upgraded my 86 951 to the later offset instead of buying spacers and studs for the late offset wheels that the PO put on my car...it also had a bad ball joint that would have had to be fixed as well.
It took for me to make the swap: Front hubs and spindles, tie rod ends, brake rotors (different rotor on the late offset, easier to get on/off), and the A-arms. For the rear it took the hubs and rotors. Since I was in there at the same time, I replaced ALL of my wheel bearings since the car had 115,000 miles on it just because if I hadn't one of them would have went bad just after the swap got done....
If the brakes are completely gone, you'd have to course your late offset car rotors from someplace else, but you can use the same calipers if the brake rotors aren't any bigger diameter than the ones you currently have (I think the Turbo S rotors are bigger as maybe the M030 ones would be? Not sure...check it out first....).

I am running Big reds w/Kokeln adaptors now (86 offset)... Can these be used when changed to the late offset????

Hey Andrew......np....I was glad to get that info myself when I needed to do mine and with selling the early offset parts, I came out quite well on the swap.
Don't have any idea on the Big Reds though, I'm still using the stock calipers.....you can send me yours and I'll try them out though

You might get away with just removing the adapters...or there may be different adapters for the late offset cars to use them.
