I just replaced my lifters and went to rebolt my camshaft to the block. The engone is set at TDC. I torqued down the bolts on the camshaft, then realized the cam was NOT at TDC.

Could I have bent my valves by putting it on wrong?

The cam will move off TDC as you torque the bolts down. It's normal.

i don't think you're strong enough (even with a long wrench) to bend valves by hand force.
