944 S2 questions
Right now I have an '87 n/a 944 and have decided to sell it and move on to something else. So far I have considered a '96 Corvette (LT4 engine) - still in consideration, and a modified 951 - and idea which I have dropped. So now I'm thinking about an S2 convertable and I have a few questions.
1. Is the top on the verts manual or electric?
2. How is it (the top) as far as leaks are concerned?
3. Is the vert much less stable than the coupe as is usual between verts/coupes (ie is there alot of noticable body flex?)
4. If so, would it be possible to fit an X-brace underneath the car to add stability to the body?
5. Are roll bars for them an option - something that looks kinda cool such as on the Boxster?
I have quite a few more questions, but I don't wanna overload on one thread and have many of my concerns overlooked, so look out for more interesting (mostly performance related) S2 questions to come....after dinner that is

hi aero,
s2 convertible, good choice, you'll love it.
1> Electric (in the s2's it is electric everything !)
2> great, but like anything, I have noticed the occasional "weep" follow Porsche instructions exactly, for cleaning, as it has a rubberised impreganted layer, in heavy rain storms had no problems
3> I would no body flex, unless you were track daying the car, "A SHED" load of enhancements to stiffen the body and improove ride quality,
4> no, there is a second bpdy skin. and there is no point, you could put a strut brace if you were really worried but then it would only by noticable on a track day
5> you dont need rool bars the front windscreen "IS the roll bar", of course you could fit one for looks, but you dont need one
any more dont hesistate to holla
regards
Adrian

Starting Problem
Yesterday I turn the key in my 944S2 and nothing happened. Replaced the starter, still nothing. Replaced the battery, still nothing. New starter and new battery. Any clue to what's going on here. Could it possibly be the ignition switch. Anyone with any ideal of what the problem might be, please reply. Thanks.

However I think it was restricted to Euro cars and that all US cars have electric top.

as far as I know that is not correct,
never heard or seen one which was manual. All the documentation I've read (even the original when first launched/introduced) relates to an electric roof.
I'd be concerend to be offered a s2 cab with a manual roof

That is indeed correct as I have seen several '89 S2 cabs with manual roof. I even drove one, FWIW. You Brits might not have been delivered any, though, as suggested by Peter Morgan's book which does not even mention ROW and US '89 S2 cabs.
