Default 88' 944 n/a

What up guys,
About a year ago I bought a 88' 944 n/a auto, it needed worked and slowly ive babied it. Im just about finished the resto, Ive rebuilt the top end including new intake and exhaust valves, and valve guides, new flywheel dampner, new bilstein struts all around, zimmerman cross drilleds in the front with new pads, rear new pads and freshly turned, new stainless brakelines all around, next it goes to paint(which alone will run me 2k even as sidework because I know the owner of the shop), after that wheels are being chrome plated, then im installing new carpet and fresh leather all around, full interior resto better than new!!! Basically im about one month from damn near showroom condition!!!! My question is what do you guys think ill be able to get considering all these variables???? Ill have about 12k into it. Im looking to upgrade to a 951!!!
Thanx,
Tone

The factor that will hurt you the most selling it is the automatic transmission. Another big factor is the area you are trying to sell it in. Im not sure typically how much they go for in your area, but most 944's i see in my local paper (Long Island New York area) go for between $4k to the most $7k (i doubt the cars in the upper area even sell). In my honest opinion, a car in the shape your describing would likley not get anymore than $6k in the NYC area. If it was a standard transmission, you could maybe stretch it a little farther to the $7k range.

Hmmmm,
The market in Phoenix is usually higher than NY, between 6-7 I would be happy tho.

Also, I have a fresh top end, tranny has been tuned and checks way clean, a new dampner is 800$ alone. Im hoping Ill find someone who doesnt mind an automatic, afterall i would think since its more rare it eventually will be more of a collector piece, and chicks usually dig auto's. I know i wont get my money out of it, Id settle for seven. If not ill just keep it, hell i got so much into it itll be years before i need anything else.(knock on wood)
