Default Trying timing

Has anyone set the timing on their s2?
I have a 968 and want to do this. I've watched a few vids and read some of the maintenance manual. It doesn't look too terribly difficult but I have no experience doing it.

Yes, done it. The best advice I got from a factory trained mechanic was that the procedure in the service manual is a coarse setting. Further adjustments to the exhaust cam pulley may be necessary for the engine to "come alive."

easiest way to set it after doing some cam-out work is by just marking the cam gear/washer locations and aligning it again on the "propeller".
if you just want to play you can just loosen the 3 bolts holding the cam gear to the propeller and advance/retard a smidge (IIRC 968 cam gear has 44? teeth on it so each tooth is a little over 8 degrees)
you'd have to do some math to figure for example how many mm's on the propeller = how many degrees)
