Default 944S2 Oil Hoses Filter to Cooler - Rebuild??

I have a 1991 944S2 coupe, manual transmission. I would like to replace or rebuild the oil hoses from the oil filter housing to the oil cooler (see photo). New hose sets are no longer available from Porsche. Anyone have success with a local hydraulic hose shop or similar rebuilding these hoses?

Are the hoses leaking or damaged?
If they are OK at this time, I would keep using them.
Although you don't mention the mileage, I have had good luck still using the factory ones past 175K miles, and they do seem to be well built.

YES hydraulic shops will set you up for VERY reasonable money, re-using the old fittings with new crimps and hose.
I have changed up my own oil cooler arrangement several times over the years and am currently on my 3rd set of hoses I've had made up by a local hose place.
The previous sets I used were in excellent shape when I sold those setups to other folks.

I went a very non-conventional way with my current arrangement and all fittings, hose and labor came out to around $150.
However since you just need to re-crimp new hose you'll probably be out the door for $50 and 30 minutes.

PaulD_944S2, My car has 89,700 miles. My mechanic identified the faulty hose, he has a steady 944 / 968 business and noted he has seen his share of these faulty hoses. I am going to have a closer look when the weather behaves, snowing now here in central MA. Thanks for your reply

V2Rocket, Great news that you were successful rebuilding the hoses between the oil filter housing and oil cooler. Was the shop able to mold the new hoses into the same shape or did you fabricate some parts to make sure the hoses had the same clearance as the stock hoses? By clearance, I mean from other components in the engine bay. Some photos would be great if you have a few. Thank you for your help.

Not necessary to mold them into the same shape, just get the length correct (maybe add a smidge more for flexibility).

folks - can anyone confirm (on a S2) - the direction of the hoses:

x - where the hoses come out of the oil filter housing, the FORWARD most hose goes into the TOP of the factory cooler right? I've put in an RX7 style cooler and making sure I've got it the right way around.

shouldn't really matter.
but if you look in the photo at the top of this thread the "upper hose" next to the water pump is the return from the cooler.
lower hose would be the feed FROM the oil pump.
