Default Cabrio top module / mod

Does anyone know of a direct plug and play module that will allow the top to be operated with the engine running? I have seen them several places for Boxsters and other cars but none for the 944.

Or how difficult is it just to rewire the switch.

That's an easy mod. I would still like a some electronics that prevent the top from going up if the car is movind but I guess I could wire in a hiden switch so both have to be pressed to make it move.

hence the keyswitch,

turn the switch and/or remove the key. If "your" driving you will see if anyone is going to try and lower the roof.

Also the hood pins wont allow the roof to lower even with the defaet switch

I have an EQ under the radio so I would put it on the side of the console or under the dash some place. I just really dont want the top to start to go up at 80mph.

hi andre,

I hear ya,

when you mean go up, you mean go from a fully open postion, to a fully closed position.

this is really unlikly, I think the hood takes all of 20 seconds from open to close, it really is very slow.

now unless while you are driving, you press the button while you doing 80, which is unlikly, your passenger is going to do it.

you should see in the compactness of the cabin ( ) if your passenger is going to do this anyway.

unless of course you give the car to somoneelse to drive and they then ignore your warning not to do this. however a switch wont stop somone doing this. a key switch will.

it really is not going to be a problem, had this mod in here for a year, other people have driven my car and even when I take the car in for a service I somtimes forget to remove the keyswitch.

but whatever works best for you

A
