Default grinding noise from clutch/transmission area

I stupidly did a burnout and instead of burning rubber the rear wheels seemed to bounce. Afterwards I heard a loud grinding noise from the tranny or clutch. When it idles and I'm pressing the clutch its normal but if I'm in neutral and let out the clutch its seems to grind/make a loud clattering noise. I can still shift into all gears and I drove it a little down the street but it sounds like the clutch is just spinning but its still engaged.

What do you guys think it is? I've got another transmission from the previous owner. But its sounding like clutch to me but I'm confused about how I can still drive and shift gears.

Drain the transmission fluid and check if you have shiny bits of metal. They would be parts of your ring and pinion...

Disconnect the trans to torque tube coupler and see if the noise is in the trans or in the clutch area.

Checked the fluid and its alright. It was a little low but I'm gonna put in fluid and see how it goes.

How would I check the noise?
