Did the 15" phone dials have different offsets from the early 944 to the later 944 (ie 944S)?

Yep.. there should be a number on the back like a 52et or 23.3ET this is the offset.

You should have the "late offset" wheels.

Exactly! On one of the spokes it should say," 7Jx15 52.3ET. A set is going for around $200.00?
