I am amazed how much can be squeezed into the cabrio:

2 batteries (Optima yellow up front and Lightning Audio 1200 in trunk)
4 amps (3 JL 300/4 and Concept 2400-3300 watts total)
2 12in Audiomobile Mass subs
6.5,4 and tweeters-front drivers
8 and 4-rear drivers
2 Audiocontrol EQX
Pioneer Premier P920R head unit
Pioneer Premier PD6 in dash changer
0 gauge wires and some rewiring of the factory charging system.....
A case of severe overkill? Definitively but it does sound great, especially for a convertible...

I also want to revamp my stereo but I still need trunk space so my version will be pretty toned down!

LOL... I have never used this car as a grocery getter and the way the trunk is (very shallow) it was not good to begin with... I was just not happy with what I had before... so I decided to get it right this time... LOL... I solved my always dead battery first by rewiring the alternator using 4 ga welding wire, bumped up the voltage to 14.8 volts and installing the Optima yellow top battery... I had to do it because before, with just 2700 watts, the lights were dimming like the strobes on an ambulance, LOL... This is really trying my patience because it has been 4 months since I paid for them and I haven't seen them yet (they have my original trim panels still that they used as the molds...) I was going to have them mold custom lower door panels to fit 8s in the doors but I just ran out of patience and condidering how long it takes them to do the rears, I might not live long enough to see them, LOL...

Then again, you are in a better position to get by with less power in a hatchback... Between my loud exhaust and open interior, I really have to pump it up... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

1000 watts going to the subs...its plenty LOUD, beleive me..those subs are about as badass as you can find. I had to wait 3 months to have them hand built....

This is why I had to have the loading board/horn put on the subs so the deck lid does not fly off... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
If you look at page 3, the hatchback pumps out 3000 watts and uses 4 12s...
