87 944 oil capacity
Silly question...Friend just bought a 87 944 NA without the manuals and needs to confirm how much oil to put in after an oil change.

My 83 944 always takes about 6 quarts, if I am changing the filter as well. If you are changing the filter, after you put the new one on, as are ready to add oil, add the first 5 quarts. Then run it, check for leaks, etc. Shut it off, check the oil and add the last 3/4 quart or so slowly, checking it frequently.
