Best wheel cleaner

I used the Maguires Hot Rims for a while...wheels come out spotless. Spray it on, rinse it off with the hose. Although lately I've just been scrubbing them by hand since i got my new 996 twists which are super easy to clean..the design 90's were too much of a PITA to clean by hand with all the grooves that got brake dust stuck in them..ugh.

The first step toward an easier to cleen wheel is to accept the fact that the stock pads are inherently filthy as well as creating hard-to-clean dust. I had good luck with P21-S but why bother when the wheels are dirty again before you get out of the driveway?
After many stock pads and a change of rotors I went for Repco Metal Master pads. Don't even know if I can still get them. Why? because in non-track use I've had almost no pad or rotor wear (and excellent braking) in 50k miles since '92.
But the big thing is the dust. Almost none, and what there is comes of with soap and water. My wheel are telephone dials and a bucket of soapy water with a soft-bristle car brush cleans 'em up with no effort.
Flash forward. Same dust problem with my newly-acquired 1993 Audi 100CS quattro. Couldn't get Repco, so I settled for EBC Greenstuff formulation pads (street formulation). A little more dust (but a much heavier car) than the Porsche, but a lot less than the stock pads, and the same clean-up. Just soap and water. Only additional labor is the incredibly stupid wheel design which leaves a myriad of little right-angle pockets requiring extra attention since SOMETHING has to bring the dust in contact with the soap & water in order to move it.

The old Repco Metal Master pads are now called Axis pads. They both eat rotors, but are a lot easier to clean up. Still the best all around pads for your car are the Padid or equiv. factory pads
