Default 944 Oil cooler/housing gasket replacement.

Do the exhaust headers need to be removed, or can the replacement be effected from the underside.

pretty sure i had to remove the headers. Not a lot of room in there/ really tight job...

This is how my project started. Cracked oil cooler housing replacement, then eventually the whole car...
I pulled my engine. I also knew the clutch was overdue. Hardest part will be alignment going back in, very tricky business. A good winter project if you have the time and a heated garage.

I just did my gasket replacement on the oil cooler, without removing my exhaust headers. But, as pnbell says, it's a REALLY tight job. You might want to borrow an extra pair of hands.
