Hi there, anybody hear anything about the wilwood 4 piston brakes for 944's? I recently got started doing track events with the metro ny pca region and am looking to upgrade my brakes. These wilwoods are the only option i've stumbled upon. Any feedback or other recommendations would be really helpful. Thanks Keith

I've heard of the Wilwoods, but don't have experience with them. Before spending tons on money on calipers/etc, I'd consider changing the pads that you are using. I currently am using Hawk HPS Plus front/rear and they made a big difference over a stock pad. Based on how the car brakes from speed, I'll be putting Hawk Blue/9012 on the front and leaving the HPS+ on the rear as the car now wants to brake the rear tires loose on hard braking. To put it another way, the stock brake setup on a 944n/a with the proper pad will give you probably all the stopping power that you need.

Heres a link: http://www.rennbay.com/944-big-brake-kit-p-83.html
That said, since you are new to DE, lets make sure your current brake system is working properly before dropping $700-1000 in new parts![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
As mentioned, some high performance brake pads and fluid are an excellent start! Getting as much air over the brakes as possible will help too. Learning how to "brake less" will also be worth learning. Since a 944 is relatively low on hp, no point slowing down more than you need to![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
You*could* put 944T brakes on, but that would mean changing out your front suspension as well.

I've got wilwoods on my 924s. I got a very good deal on them second hand but unused. I have not had them on the track yet but I can they will outlast my cheap street tires. I figured at the price I got the kit it was worth the new pads, SS lines, weight savings, and looks.
Several others say they perform great at the track but heat the rotor too fast if you don't add brake ducting.
