Default Tips: oil in coolant 110k miles

Hi,

I have read some threads on this topic: "oil in coolant"...but I don't get any good tips on how to come around the problem.

From what I have understood the oil cooler seal could be one critical part to oversee??

I haven't yet done anything about it but I'm going to and I need help, guys...where to look for possible leakages and parts to change?

I also have, what I think is oil consumption in the engine..there is a small leak but I think most of the oil ends up in the coolant.

Can anybody give me some concrete tips on what to do/look for/replace??

Thank you!

See info at Clark's Garage:

Update kit is at:

Very common failure with 944's and a (fairly) easy fix.

Oil will float on top of your coolant, as oil is less dense... Look for this in your coolant tank.

If you do find oil in your coolant!!!! This is very BAD! fix the problem asap, change the oil, and cross your fingers...

As I said oil floats on top of coolant- so the coolant will settle in the motor and DESTROY your Main and Rod bearings!!!!!

Look for leaks under the engine/passengers side/behind oil filter. There is a rectangular housing on the engine there... This is the oil cooler. the seals inside seperate the OIL and Coolant
