944S2 occasionally stalls
1991 944S2 stalls occasionally. I'll be driving along and the engine just drops. It doesn't go silent, the rpms drop out. I start to pull over and, before I stop, the engine appears to correct itself so I merge back into traffic. It seems to be happening more frequently as time goes on.

Check your AFM, specifically the connector. Had a very similar problem in my 87S, would all of the sudden act like I was getting no air/fuel (which I wasn't...) and then I'd go over a bump and it would come back. Turned out the connector for the AFM was full of crud and once I cleaned both sides with a small file everything ran great again. Good time to check the contact pad/sensor inside the AFM too (check clarks garage for good procedure on this).
