Your VIN states:

WP0 = Worldwide Manufactorer Code for Porsche
ZZZ = Placeholders, other letters used for US versions
94 = First and second digit of type number
Z = Placeholder
E = Model year 1984
N = Place of Manufactoring, N = Neckarsulm
4 = Third digit of type number, all together 944
0 = Code for body and engine, 0 = Rest of World
2863 = Counting number

there are two VINs on US cars. One on the firewall, the other by the windshield. the difference is usually the ZZZ.

Are they really different? It's the same on German Porsches, and the numbers are in the same format.
