My 944S2 has a MSD 6A box w/Blaster 2 coil along with Nology Hotwires. I did buy the car this way so I cannot attest to the gains. The PO said hp gains if anything were not noticable he was trying to get the car to start quicker with less cranking time. I do notice the tach needle does bounce around some when blipping the throttel. The needle does settle on the correct rpm but it fluctuates high and low of that correct rpm before hand.

I installed one into my S2 a while ago. I think it made a difference, but it was very slight. I do not have any dyno pulls to back up this claim, but the car did pull better. One think to make sure is to open up the gap on the plugs if you go this route. I ended up going to .060 I think. I will check next time I pull the plugs.

I am curious about opening up the gap as well.
I recall when I had my Jacobs Omni Mag coil on my 84' 944 I gapped them at ~ .047 and this was per Jacobs instructions to reap the full benefit of the more powerful spark.
Riff, do you recall anything on the MSD instructions about opening up the spark plug gap?
Thanks!

OK I cheated and pulled this from the instruction sheet.

Not sure why, but I remember going up to .060 gap for some strange reason. Works well for my car, though I have not tried going larger still. When the plugs were in the first time, it was set at the factory spec which is .032 IIRC and when I opened them up, it worked better.
Cheers!

I had the MSD6A installed, and think that the car started and pulled better than stock. Purely seat of the pants though. I ended up removing it, as it was installed next to the battery, and made for a very tight fit. So, for those of you using this, where did you mount the box?? I was thinking of the passenger side front under the washer fluid reservoir.

I installed one on my 1993 Nissan 240sx (stock KA24de) and it really opened up the upper RPM range. My best description would be that my peak power was made 1,000rpms or so higher.. Didn't dyno, so this is just my opinion.
