Default 1984 Porsche 944 not running well...

Hey guys,

Well, it's been a LONG saga working on this car. I bought a 1,200 dollar 1984 Porsche 944 and I've put about $1,400 in parts into the car so far. New interior, etc... (you can check out the ENTIRE progress here: www.PontiacPerformance.Net go to "Current Cars" and select "Porsche 944").

In any case, as it stands now, the 944 RUNS. It has new reference sensors (both of them), it has new plug wires, spark plugs, cap and rotor, a good fuel pump, oil filter, a brand new fuel filter (and all new fuel lines from the tank to the pump to the fuel filter. It also has a new battery.

The car starts (although on it's first crank, it sputters and dies). After it's second crank, it sputters and eventually reaches idle (although it's somewhat harsh). After it warms up, it actually idles quite well. But when you blip the throttle, it's very "jerky". I guess the easiest way to explain it is that the motor feels like it might be missing slightly.

I have not changed the belt yet, but I've got all new rollers and other stuff, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

What do you think could be causing it to run / idle weird? By the way, it has all new gas. I've also cleaned the mechanical air meter and installed a new gasket between the air box and it, as well as made sure there are no vacuum leaks.

Thanks...
