Seeking idle problem
Hey Guys,
I am having a serious issue with my '86 944 N/A seeking to find an idle.
Recently, while over-charging my battery, I must have filled the engine bay with hydrogen gas, because when I tried to start the engine it exploded in the intake system with enough force to shred the rubber intake boot and shatter the throttle switch.
I replaced the boot and could restart the engine but it just seeks an idle position, as if pumping the gas pedal.
I then replaced the throttle switch (which I hadn't noticed was broken) and still have an idle seeking in the throttle.
Have any of you experienced this problem? Is there a sensor or switch that I may have blown that will resolve this issue?
Suggestiions????

Could be something with your mass air flow sensor. I found that if mine was dirty inside that it would idle really rough and almost die when stopped. Hopefully thats something helpful.
