Default need to find out

i've been doing researches recently, and i can't seem to find anyone to help me out oin this on...

i'm looking to find out what is the bronze valve situated under the 3rd runner of the intake manifold used for. this little bastard screams like a power steering strap, and as soon as i touch it it stops. at idle it goes on and on and it sometimes stops, but it give an impression of dying.

someone got an idea? i have a feeling it has something to do with a vacuum pump or something like that

this is for a 86 944 na.

I believe you are referring to the Idle Stabilizer Valve. It maintains a proper idle speed when the engine is cold, and when you engage the a/c.

would it affect my idle when engine is cold or hot? because i d'ont seem to have any bad idle issues, it clears a stable 900 rpm...

It mostly affects the idle when the engine is cold.
