Make your 944 into a 944 spec car!

Make your 944 into a 944 spec car!
The rules are simple and cheap resulting in very equal cars. All the same chassis, Drivers weight included.
See the rules at www.944spec.com.
We now have groups up and running in Arizona, SoCal, NorCal, Utah, Colorado, Midwest (Il, IN, OH).
Now that the class has been accepted into the PCA Club Racing Program, the ease of resale and value of the cars has increased. You can now race them anywhere in the US!
BTW, a blurb in the lastest PCA Club Racing News regarding the 944 Cup "groups" as somehow being spec classes was incorrectly attributed to me! That was funny! 944 spec, SP-1 in PCA, is the only true spec class for 944's in PCA.
CHEERS!

Yes, there's also 4 or 5 guys in the Virginia and North Carolina region, guys in Montreal, Oklahoma, several around the new Miller Motorsports Park in Utah, etc. , but they aren't quite there yet. They'll all reach critical mass soon. I'm just acting as the National focal point and linking these guys up with each other as they contact me individually. It's very rewarding to see others as excited about this 944 class as we are.
Ken Huey in NorCal and Chuck Taylor in Rocky Mountain Region have stepped up to lead the class/series in those groups.

There are several of us building cars for the fledling NASA Midwest. I've been racing/autocrossing for 14 years, and this is the finest organization and group of racers I've found. 924/44's are cheap these days, and solid (galvanized so they don't rust) - come race with us!

I just went on to the site and spent about an hour just reading about the race series. I now have to replace my keyboard due to all the drooling I was doing. Tom, I will email you as I have a ton of questions, but a few basic ones that will tell me if I want to proceed.
This sounds like an absolute blast!

I got this response to another posting...any more info on licensing, etc?
So one last thing to keep in mind. you MUST have a provisionary license to run in NASA 944spec. that license is earned through experience and HPDE's. what you'll need to do is to attend the HPDE's and show improvement, thus moving from the novice ranks to the pro ranks. they'll move you when an instructor (who rides in the car with you) says it's alright. once you're in the top class, and the instructor says it's OK, then you're up for review, and you'll need a physical, etc. etc. once all that clears, you have the provisional license. you'll be allowed to race, but you're on probation, so if there are any mishaps that you are responsible for, the license might get pulled.

Hey, great car! and low mileage like I haven't seen. Keep it in great shape!
You'll need to buy a 83-88 944 or 924S to prepare for our class, but they're not expensive. If you can, come to Willow Springs this coming weekend. There's a NASA event that you can enter your 944S2 in, just to get some track time. The 944 spec class will be there racing!
The licensing info you have is correct. Just start driving in the NASA HPDE groups and earn a reputation for being safe and sane. Show good car control and keep moving up. You can follow the class more closely on the NASA 944 spec forum.

Sure. Go to www.nasaproracing.com.
Go to the SoCal page.
Go to the event registration.
You can read about the requirements for HPDE on the website, too. If you can make it, please look for the 944 spec guys and park with them and introduce yourself.
