I know that are cars are known for the oil pan gasket bulging and causing major leaks. I also remember a post not long ago about a machined aluminum plate that stops this. Well my idea is to add at least 4 pins to the mix. I would drill through the bottom of the block - oil pan, and gasket. then tap in 4 pins (I will turn these on the lathe and locktight them into the block. DO you guys think this would help keep the gasket from bulging or cause other issues?

Seems like an easy fix but nothing is ever that easy on these cars.

Do a search for pin and oil pan gasket, you'll find some pics and posts from John Anderson among others, who have been putting in pins to lock the gasket in place.
